Week 6

Tell us about your high school experience. Was it positive/negative? Why?

I had an interesting high school experience. I didn't have that many close girlfriends partly due to the fact that I cut myself off from all my good friends from middle school since they were getting involved in more mature situations I was not comfortable being automatically associated with. That being said, I had (and still have) a very best friend who is literally my other half. We were the "Heaven and Hell" of our high school -- I have very blonde hair and pale skin and she has very black dark hair and olive skin. She wore rather dark make-up and although mine was equally as dramatic, it was always on the lighter side of the color spectrum. We both had our own sense of style that was seen as over-the-top and glamorous (As far as I see it) and everyone always talked about us. We liked to push the envelope a little bit too, of course! When we had a very strict dress code our senior year, we got in a looooot of trouble (even though the vice principle was my dad's good friend!) so we were always in the spotlight and INSEPERABLE. We almost got Class Inseperables, but I think two boys got it because they were a little more popular *booo!* Anyway, all my friends were cheerleaders except me -- I was way too involved with dancing and art classes and didn't have the time to devote to it. I think my high school experience could have been better had I been more social, but I did have a good time and did into a little more than I should have, but I think I was always much more mature than those around me (which is why I hung around with the select few I did!). I would NOT go back and do it differently because I think my experience was unique and memorable.
