Final week! Ah!
So this week is the last one.. and it ends in FOUR days! Wow! I'm kind of nervous since my videos aren't being approved.. like, was being fashionably late not acceptable?! =( I feel like Paris's BFF should be able to also be fashionably late.. you know? "Tell everybody what they want to hear.. and then do what you want." I basically live by this mantra quoted from Miss Hilton herself, so I doubt she'd have a problem with it! I have good excuses, too! No computer & no time! Winning this contest would mean the world to me, bc. it would mean finally getting out of Philly, away from pretentious people, and having the opportunity to make a genuine friend who I really, really believe that I would get along great with. And, honestly? As much as I'd love to live like Paris- going to all of the huge parties and being photographed all the time, becoming a household name (and brand!! so cool, Paris!), and all of that good stuff- I would completely be fine with staying out of the limelight and really just being a true, real friend to her. It seriously must be soo hard for Paris to trust that her friends are true friends. I'm sure that's why she's doing this contest; to try to find someone who isn't in it for the fame, but someone who she can really relate to and may be a bit more down-to-earth than (at least to her, hah) the "everyday celebrity." I feel like I would be great for this because, as weird as it sounds, I feel like I already know her (in a non-creepy way). Whenever I hear negative things about her, I'm always on the defensive bc. it isn't fair for people to judge people they don't know! Granted, I don't technically "know" her, but I feel that between meeting her twice and reading about her and seeing her in appearances and stuff, I can form a good opinion about the kind of genuine, business-savvy, fun, thoughtful, and -of course- cute individual that Paris is! Anyway, I felt like I needed to put that out there because lately I've been getting a lot of "Why would you WANT to win this?," "What's the point of this, honestly?," etc etc and I just wanted to say that, really, I just want to make an awesome friend. I don't fit in in Philadelphia, but when I go to LA I completely click. I make friends, I have fun, and I love all that California is- so beautiful, warm, and fun. Paris is so LA, and I am so LA. I belong there, and I can't imagine anything better than living there with pretty much the "most rad" girl that the state has to offer (and tons of animals, too! hahah)! Oh, and not that it really matters bc. I'm sure this happens to a lot of blondes who walk little dogs while typing on their sidekick and wearing big sunglasses- yesterday my dog and I went on a hike and on the trail we passed these two women and I smiled and said hi (because that's what I do! Why be grumpy, ugh) to them.. and they looked at each other, smirked, walked on, and under her breath the one goes, "okay, Paris." I took that as a compliment and laughed to myself. But yeah, I want to live somewhere where people are friendly and where it's okay to be myself! I do wear pink, I do always want to have fun, I do need to look cute when hiking, I do buy my dog Hello Kitty collars and charms, I do need a Starbucks soy vanilla latte in my pink reusable cup at least twice daily, my sidekick is attached to my hand and jingles when I walk bc. of the Sanrio charms on it, and I do smile at strangers. Note to people- when people smile or say hi, do it back. It feels amazing!(=

Being Paris's BFF wouldn't change my personality. If it was going to, why would I be pretending to want to be her friend? If your personality would honestly change because of having the chance to be her friend, then you shouldn't be in this competition. I mean, yeah, maybe I'd be thrilled to be out of Philadelphia and living in the place where I plan on living later in my life earlier than I intended. Sure, I imagine I'd get to experience and attend things I'd never have previously been able to do since Paris is, pretty much, one of the most famous people around today. There's no way that being around someone fun and happy with a bunch of animals in tow wouldn't improve my current mood. But, it would simply build on how I already am. As I kind of previously mentioned, I really am a friendly, happy, upbeat person. I legitimately hate where I live (I tried sooo hard to pretend to like it!!), I can't make ends meet even though I work three jobs, and pretty much my best friend lives on the other side of the country. Not to mention, the place I am staying until I can afford my own place doesn't allow dogs, so every day I'm "home" is a day without the love of my life. She really is my best friend and daughter, and leaving her at my Dad's until I can afford my own place is the WORST. BUT! That isn't any excuse to be negative or feel bad for myself! I really do live by things Paris says, especially, "live everyday like your birthday.." why shouldn't you??! Life's short! There is no reason to ever be sad. And if you are, do something about it! Bake cupcakes! Borrow someone's dog if you don't have one and take them for a walk or to a dog park. Wear pink. Buy new lipgloss. Watch Legally Blonde! Jump on a plane to California or somewhere tropical (I've done this, actually hahaha)! Anything. There's so much happy in the world!(=
Anyway, that blog inspired me to take my friend's dog for a walk to Love Park and get some kind of fruit bar. mmmm.. In the meantime, vote for me and watch my most current video here:

Actually, for real, we're actually friends bc. of Paris! True Story! I met her at Paris's Kitson Clothing Launch and we've been best friends ever since! Perfect or WHAT!?

I'm going to say yes, but jealous in a GOOD way! Who wouldn't be jealous if they knew someone who had Paris as their best friend?! The majority of my friends are huugge Paris fans, so I know that, along with being "good jealous," they would be super excited for me. And, if they were honestly, like, mad about it? Get Your Kicks with Week 6
*Still late. Sorry, I was washing my hair and my dog's outfit was SO wrong...
"Blog requirement - Tell us about your high school experience. Was it positive/negative? Why?"
Oh man, high-school. Is high-school positive for anyone?! I mean, if you look at it from the learning-life-lessons POV, I guess it is extremely positive! High-school is just one of life's fashion shows, anyway. Seriously though, high-school bored me. I never went. I was always late. I always got away with it. My favorite class was gym, but only when I had it later in the day. When I had it first block it frustrated me, because then I had to deal with bad hair all day. Lame. I actually joined band so I could go on the yearly trip to Florida & DisneyLand for a week. It was so worth it- except for those lame outfits. I always tailored them a little to make them cuter, and now that I think about it I basically did the same thing that Paris & Nicole would do on the Simple Life. No way would I be seen or photographed in that awful getup! I styled it up as best I could, and got away with it! What's kind of depressing about high-school is that when I think back I don't remember learning much, but I remember things that happened. Like the time my friends and I joined the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), because we found out that their trip to Philadelphia ended with a 2 hour stay at the King of Prussia Mall (I currently actually work there at Abercrombie & Fitch, which is wild bc. that mall was my dream mall and my Mom and I would always make the 2.5 hour drive there on my birthday bc it was soooo worth it!)! As Paris says, just tell everyone what they want to hear, and do what you want! Life is short- life it up. I still got good grades, and I barely went to school!

Week 5.. Just a tad Fashionably Late (=
*Forgive me! I didn't have a computer until a few days ago! AH!

I currently do have a significant other, and I'm really happy. I don't plan on changing when I become Paris's BFF, so I really don't think it would break us up! I can imagine it might get a little difficult, being as I'd all of a sudden be on the other side of the country, in the limelight, at the best parties, and of course at the center of all of the celebrity gossip magazines.. but if it's true love, it'll last! Trust would obviously be a huge thing, being as I'd be jetsetting all over the world with paris at my leisure. Of course, I do consider myself something of a jetsetter at the present (my Mom is a flight attendant, so I get mad perks!), so my boyfriend is used to me decided to fly to California to get a tan for a week at the drop of a hat. All I need is 4 hours notice! And of course, if I really were to become Paris's BFF, I'm sure she wouldn't have a problem with him flying out to go to Good Charlotte concerts with us!

Soooo, I decided to take this a little more seriously. Expect a new video asap. Here are a few more reasons why I need to be Paris Hilton's BFF--
1-My trip to California was AMAZING, and I simply cannot wait any longer to move there. As of now, I have at LEAST two years to go, and I'm not happy about that. I love LA, I am LA.
Reasons I love LA:
-the sunshine!
-the beach
-happy people
-leaving Starbucks or COFFEE BEAN AND TEA LEAF (which we don't have over on the East Coast</3) and seeing cute girls with big sunglasses and doggies dressed in couture (here I am harassed by gross men and people telling me that I need to give them my change and that I am a "snowflake")
-the best shopping
-DISNEYLAND!
-soo many fun things to do
-Summer always! Palm trees! Flowers! Grass!
-so many good restaurants, and actually.. now that I mention it...
2-I'm so over waiting tables and rude people. I want to be able to dress up, eat out, be nice to the staff, and tip ridiculously well. People need to treat other people like they want to be treated, and honestly? I'm really just sick of smelling like fajitas every night and getting tipped 10% by people who boss me around! hah!
3-I'm over being broke! I'm in debt because of a jerk ex who ruined my credit and broke all of my things, and my taste is waayy too expensive for me. All I want is this cute gray Juicy bag, to pay off all of my bills, Betsey Johnson sunglasses and a nautical necklace from her 08 line, and tons of outfits and accessories for my Harriet<3
4-I want to travel with Paris all over, and definitely to watch her boyfriend's band!<3 I went to a Minus the Bear show last night, and actually had a panic attack because of where I was located and how small I am! I got crushed! It was so scary! I need to be on the stage dancing with Paris to her boyfriend's songs!
5-I am super fun! But.. when you work three jobs and can still barely pay the bills, having time off becomes one day a week of catching up on all of the stuff you missed during the week. I want to be able to do things and go places! I'm wasting my youth working and stressing about things!
6-Because we'd totally be BFFs. Trust.

Anyway, here are those four, verrryy important questions...
* Do you consider yourself fabulous? How so?
Of course! I think you can be fabulous in a bunch of ways. The first that comes to mind with me, is the fact that I have had an EXTREMELY difficult last year and a half.. and yet, I am still able to maintain my *sparkle and bounce* (okay, okay.. totally stole that from Legally Blonde! hah!). I think that because I was able to make it through the last year and can still hold my head high and take on the day with a smile.. THAT is how I am fabulous. Annnnnd, of course.. the obvioussssss! hahaha!
* What qualities make you the perfect celebrity BFF?
I truly am a great friend. I am trustworthy, straightforward, fun, and I can totally be a good influence (most of the time, hah). I love to make people smile. I love to make people feel good about themselves. I know how harsh people.. or tabloids.. can be, but I cannot stand to let a friend sulk about how others see them. I try to help people to understand their own beauty- isn't that what friends are for?!
Of course, this question's keyword is CELEBRITY best friend.. so why don't I throw in that I LIVE for all big events, lovvve spending all day getting ready with my friends hunting for the perfect outfit and putting it all together (and being brutally honest if necessary hah! no "what was she thinkings?!"), am super fun, and can spend the whollllee day in pj's, baking yummies, doing silly spa things, relaxing, and/or exercising. I love it all! I totally make sure that I live life to the fullest!
* What similarities do you share with Paris? How are you different?
Aww this is such a cute question! Well, I have a ton of obvious things in common with Paris-- I lovvvee pink and Hello Kitty, I love all animals more than I can say (I'm vegan and have done animal rescue and fostering and have had as many as eight animals in my own care at one time. I'd love some more!), I text my friends all day, I've had my share of the bad guys (and finally found a good one! yay!), I love shopping and fashion, I live for the big events, I would spend my life on the beach and/or traveling if I could, I live life to the fullest, etc etc etc. I could go on forever! Another thing I believe that we would have in common is that I am a very genuine person. When I met Paris for the first time (I have met her twice! Once at Kitson in LA, and once at Macy's in Philadelphia.. they were both sooooo exciting!), I was really amazed at how genuine and down-to-Earth she was-- she really listened to everything I had to say, didn't rush me at all, and was really happy to meet all of her fans. I thought that was amazing. Everyone always warns people about meeting people they look up to because a lot of them don't end up being who others think they are.. but Paris? She was everything I thought she was.. and then some! You're amazing, Paris! (=
* It's hard to stay in the public eye. How would you maintain the limelight?
I would definitely follow Paris' lead-- she's always working on something new and fun, and everyone always needs to know what she is up to. I'd just be super nice, super fun, and super busy! If I were ever lucky enough to be in the limelight, I'd love to use it to bring light to the plight of those less fortunate, be it animals or children! I love animals and kids so much, and I would do anything to help them! I've actually been painted naked on multiple occassions to help animals! haha!

Hi! I've never actually had an "official" blog before-- How exciting! I guess I should start this lovely out right and give you an idea of who I am, what I'm about, and why I'm here.
My name is Amandah (A to the H, yo), I'm 21 years old, and I currently live.. nowhere! hah! I am, however, residing in Philadelphia, but I've lived all over. I hope.. wait.. I WILL one day live in sunny California! I can't wait! I'm all about the beach- I think I might have been a sunbunny in another life. I wait all year for those few months out of the year when I can just stay outside in the sun, swim, eat water-ice all day, and relax. My favorite animal is the horseshoe crab (and, ironically, that's my boyfriend's LEAST favorite animal! hah!). Speaking of animals, I LOVE them! The most I've ever had at one time was 8! I am also vegan- I love animals so much!!
Anyway, I am studying to be an elementary teacher. I've wanted to be one since I was in kindergarten! I'm totally planning on being the next "Miss Honey" from Matilda.
I currently have THREE jobs- I am a "model" at Abercrombie & Fitch (don't get too excited, that just means I work there! I dance, spritz, and open up dressing rooms all day (and buy waaayy too many clothes)), a "Master Bear Builder" at the Build-a-Bear at Citizens Bank Park, and I am a waitress at Chilis.
My main concern in life is being happy. I always smile at strangers, and I love it when they smile back! Basically, I'm that girl that's always upbeat, happy, and dancing around-- no matter what kind of day i've had. I mean, I figure that when you're having a bad day, somebody is totally having a worse one. You only live once, you know? Why waste time being miserable and ruining other people's days when you can make other people's days better?! You should live every, single day like it's your birthday!(=
Oh! And I almost forgot. I'm super girly, but I'm a tomboy at heart. I am the biggest Pittsburgh Steelers fan ever, I'm in love with the Philadelphia Phillies, and I will kick your butt in anything. I lovvvvvee playing sports, especially softball, bowling, tennis, volleyball, racquetball, mini-golf (haha)....
Lastly, why am I here?! Well, I've been a fan of Paris' since the first time I saw a clip of her and Nicky on the E! channel. Of course, once they became more of icons than simply these gorgeous party-goers, I realized that Paris was totally the "famous me". Yeah, I'm sure almost half of you claim this as well, but I totally mean it. She's fun, happy, super girly, loves animals... Every outfit I've seen on her I would wear (or have worn!.. at least in, like, three cases hahaha). I could go on and on, from how I love her clothes to how her music is THE girly-pop album (totally up my alley.. how corny! hah!), to how I would totally have 17 animals.. if I could afford to! 8 is pretty close though! I just thought it'd be cool to get to know her on a friend level- I know we'd have a ton in common!
