A problem

This contest is a good example of a problem with America and Americans. Why not delve your mind and efforts into something more meaningful? it seems that you are all voting continuously, day in and day out, for an absurdly superficial contest. I hate to generalize and if I am wrong I thoroughly apologize but the immense interest and effort I am seeing put into such a seemingly fruitless cause is quite disturbing to me; Pop Culture can be entertaining but it is completely worthless.
Watch the news instead of E! TV but don't believe everything you hear, admire those that are worth admiring for example your parents or family members or authors, artists, philosophers, rational philanthropists and righteous politicians. Read books and the newspaper, not People and Teen Magazine. Research the things you learn and find interesting; the internet can be used for other things besides Facebook, youtube and pornography. Learn about the catastrophes our government is committing in foreign countries and take a stand to stop it, at the same time support our soldiers who are bravely risking their lives for an unjust cause. Educate yourself on current events and I'm sure you will be surprised how interesting your outlook on the world will become.
I implore you to use your rationality, break away from the main stream of thought. Regard the AIM toolbar that pops up every time you sign on next time you do, notice how not one story is about international or national news or anything of any worldly consequence; this is terrible. Indulge your mind into something you love and care about, if that is truly Pop Culture then indulge wholeheartedly. Above all do what makes you happy but read of Darfur and The Congo (To name a very small few of those that need us) and see how others are suffering. Open your eyes to the injustices of the world and help to alleviate them.
Our country and our world is at a crossroads, perhaps our fate is already decided and destruction is inevitable but I don't think so. It is up to us, the young of the country, to lead the path and reclaim the United States for what it was meant to be, to rediscover and take back our own freedoms instead of sitting idly by while we rape the world country by country and our government becomes more centralized and less republic. I am no Chekov or Hemingway, I doubt I can move anyone with my words and I don't deserve to. Forgive me if I sound arrogant or disdainful, I do not mean to be. If I have offended you I ask for your pardon, that is the last thing I want to do. But try to endorse and partake in something truly and utterly constructive, if we don't the road ahead will be dark, terrifying and dangerous.
