I promised people out there that I would hit them with one last vote. I really do try to keep my promises....however I am a DORK!! I forgot that sometimes wit the time difference, that when I am voting in the evening, it is actually showing the next days date.

What this means, is that if I voted last night...it may be too early for me to vote again because it will be less than 24 hours!! I feel so bad...but I will try to honor my word and give you "one more for the road" if I am able to do so. If not, I am truly sorry sorry sorry.

Spam Jam Hawaii 2008

I had to share this event! Sort of a crack up. Spam meat is eaten greatly around Hawaii. This weekend is the 6th Annual Spam Jam in Waikiki.

I cannot believe it has been 6yrs! I remember the first one was also the first year I lived in Hawaii. (they even brought the Spam mobile to Hawaii one year!)

Saturday May 3rd, I will be in Waikiki checkin out the vents. And of course get a corny pic of myself with the Spam Mascot! LOL They have some really great local bands at the street festivl.

strange happenings

I had a low key weekend. Which I don't mind. Sometimes low key is awesome it recharges me to deal with the next week ahead at work. (and if you worked where I work, you would understand that I need a serous grab the paddles, put it to my chest and zap me re-charge each week...crap daily...what the heck am I talking about weekly! LOL)

Anyways, I meant to spend some time at the beach. Neglected that plan due to the voggy overcast skies. And the lack of ability to breath and see due to the vog (volcanic fog.)

So I headed over to my brothers house to answer a distress call from my sister in law. She needed help with her catering jobs. I thought okay, sweet, I can toatlly due this. It usually means that I get to hang out and play with my nephews and entertain them...usually they are the ones entertaining me. I am still trying to have them give me pointers on Guitar Hero (I suck at it..but that does not stop me...one day I plan to be an expert at it! HA!)

Entertaining the kids seemed to be outa the question when I got to the house. Nope, instead I got put on cooking duty! YIKES! I am not a true fan of cooking...ask my boyfriend...he sometimes will ask me to help cook him breakfast. Omlettes to be specific...well anyhoo, he ends up with scrambed omlettes! And pancakes that never seem to look quite right...don't know why...but they don't.

I have help my sis in law cook before. She will give me the easy tasks. Like using the deep fryer, set the timer and watch the stuff when the time goes off, take the stuff out of the oil. HEck, I am capable of doing that! LOL Nope didn't happen this time. I have learned that strange as it sounds, you need to steam a banana leaf to make it more pliable. Uh-huh, like I knew that before yesterday. (she does Filipino catering...she was born and raised in the Philippines.) She put me in charge of making Puto. Now I have tasted these delightful little treats,but have never ever made them. I think it is easy to say that I learned a lot of strange things yesterday. (not all together sure if I can use these wonderful little tidbits of knowledge in my everday life, but it certainly was intereseting!)

Who knew that I would spend my weekend learning how to steam a banana leaf? NOT ME!

Never made it to the beach, but also learned that the Nintendo DS will have Guitar Hero coming out soon. It will come with a plug in device that you will use to fiddle yoru fingers to the songs. I plan to invest in the game when it does come out...but will I master it...probably not. I am to try though!

Banana leaves (((SIGH))) I never would have thought that I would puicture myself steaming the leaves! and I am sad that I did not get pics of this momentous occasion...my hands were too full steaming to grab my camera! bummer

Excitement!

I am so excited! I just heard from my brother in Costa Rica that he will be coming to Hawaii with his family. We have not seen them in several years. And we have not met the newest addition to our family...my little niece. Can't wait to see them and to meet the little one.

This will be the first time since our fathers funeral that the whole family will be togehter with all of my brothers kids. I am pumped up and cannot wait until they get here in June.

FEELING BITCHY TODAY! (maybe)

Okay...so I woke up this morning and felt a little bitchy. Mostly I think that I need a cup of coffee and more sleep.

So I will RANT a little to relieve some of my bithiness. I I was having a goog night last night. Got off work, went to the gym worked out...then I got a phone call from my mom to remind me that she wanted me to help her take the screens out of her windows. Monday night entertainment for me, taking out screens and helping my mom wash them. UGH!

Didn't get much of a chance to vote for people last night. But when I did, I noticed that people want your votes will ask you and even tell me that they voted for me...how can that be true, since they cannot VOTE for me...I am not a casting member? (I think that this irritated me because of the screens that needed to be washed...and then scrubbed..oh yeah and I broke one of the the little f*ckrs! LOL) Anywayz, so it got me thinking..and HELL YEAH that can be dangerous! me thinking an dall. But I checked around and notice that people say their voting for people but when you look at the "who I voted for" tab they have barely been voting. Now come on people, this is about being a PARISBFF..and a friend in general. Aren't you supposed to be a friend and show a little love? ?

After I did a short round of voting, I realized that I had to do my nightly routine..remove the makeup..brush and floss the teeth. This made me grumpy too and then I couldn't sleep! Thankfully, when I did sleep I had a nice dream about my niece who lives in Costa Rica and me tickling the crap outa her. I woke up feeling a little better. Until I realized that I had to go to work!

So here I am...working on this blog, when I should really in all reality be working. HA! But before I do some actual work, I need a cup or two or three of cofee. Lucky me...we have Tiramisu flavored creamer. Maybe it won't be such a bad day after all.

I figured that I needed to put a blog out there, since all of the hopefuls have to put blogs out there. But the people who are VOTERS don't have too, so how do you get to know us?

Okay...I am off to get some work done...and have my cuppa java! Have a GREAT DAY ALL!
