How many people can reeeeally say they made Band cool?

I remember by the end of my senior year, i walked into a High School Basketball game with my friend Annalisa and a group of kids applauded our entrance and wispered "the band is here."

It was only her and I.

Dominating the school was never a plan ooor goal or whatevz.

You all have seen mean girls right?

WE ORIGINATED THE "BURN BOOK"...

just never got caught. I have our BURN BOOK...except it was called THE NOTEBOOK...and its dated YEARS before MEAN GIRLS released.

Annalisa and I saw that movie in awe like..."omg...that F835cking movie was scripted on our lives.

As we left for lunch every day...the group of four that we were, strutted to our cars to leave campus and as we approached the theatre trimmed in glass....everyone would turn to see their reflection. It just came so natually to us.

The "Group"..us 4...were Varsity Tennis Captain and Office in Band. All of us. We were your typical all american kids with an edge. We knew fashion at an early age and we knew trickery.

I'm gonna be completely honest...we all ran for HOMECOMING court...and out of the 4 of us, i was the only one that WON.

I used a different strategy than everyone else. I knew i was "cool", but you neverrrr really know what people reeeeally think. So i enlisted the more "quiet" kids to vote for me. After-all, there are more of them...rather than "popular" kids. It worked.

Without my friends as a backbone, i stood as Band Vice president, Homecoming senior Prince, Varsity Tennis Captain, Most Valuable Band Boy...and remained one of the most watched.

5 years after gradutating...The only difference between myself and handfuls of other "popular" students...is that i continued to grow...

It's simple...I "discovered" "popularity" i high school. It eats you up, and you never want to let it go.

I loved every second of high school and id do it all over again if i had the chance.
